The Fourth Trick - Ankum Dressage Tournament
From 18th to 20th November, the Ankum Auction Centre will play host to an official Ankum Dressage Tournament for the fourth time in Autumn 2011. The compact and carefully chosen programme offered by the Ankum Dressage Club is enjoying great popularity. Once again we can expect a broad field of competitiors, including European Championship bronze medallist Patrik Kittel from Sweden and his wife Lyndal Oatley from Australia. Also, European Championship team runner-up Christoph Koschel (Hagen a.T.W.) is taking the opportunity to use the fourth Ankum Dressage Tournament to present yet more horses of different ages and training backgrounds.
Australian Hayley Beresford will also be making the most of the fourth Ankum Dressage Tournament, and will once again be bringing, amongst others, star dressage sire Belissimo M with her to Ankum. Sweden's World Cup rider Nina Hofmann, who lives in Wedel, will be competing at the ADC Tournament, as well as Andrea Timpe from Hattingen, who recorded a number of successes at the first of the four ADC Tournaments this Autumn.
The programme will once again include 14 events, with the Grand Prix de Dressage on Sunday the highlight of the tournament. The Ankum Dressage Tournament starts on Friday with five events. Just as on previous weekends, admission to the Ankum Dressage Tournament is free. Spectators are most welcome. The 2011 ADC series will come to an end with this fourth dressage weekend, but will start anew with a tournament in January 2012.

Rostropowitsch at the Ankum Dressage Tournament
(Ankum) The name stands for virtuosity: Rostropowitsch. And while one Rostropowitsch carved out an incomparable career on the cello, his namesake is busy achieving great things in the Dressage arena. Rostropowitsch in Ankum - this is the nine year-old dark brown Westphalian stallion by Rockwell that Christoph Koschel (Hagen a.T.W.) rode into first place in the Intermediaire II Dressage Test at the Ankum Dressage Tournament.
Koschel won the test with 68.24 percent and was able to bring great joy to the horse's owner, since the stallion belongs to Koschel's mother and has already made it to the final of the TESCH Inkasso Cup - Young Horse Grand Prix (FN) this season. Also achieving success in that event was runner-up Darjeeling (66.84), offspring of De Niro, with rider Stephan Köberle (Freiburg). In third place came Westphalian stallion Wish Wonders (66.75) with his trainer Bianca Kasselmann (Hagen a.T.W.).
This weekend, just as on the previous weekend, the guard of young horses took centre stage at the opening of the event. And it is clear that those who have visited the Ankum Dressage weekends once before are keen to come again. This goes not only for Christoph Koschel, but also for Belgian Johan Zagers, for Köberle (travelling all the way from Freiburg) and for Michael Klimke (Münster).
In the M**-class Dressage test Sandra Walther (Iserlohn) claimed first place with Urban Legend (69.42), leaving young rider Charlotte Dassler (Bockhorn) in second place with William (68.76). The week before, Dassler had won a whole host of events at the ADC Tournament. Third place went to Friederike Rehkamp (Gehrde) and Wonderland (67.33).
Admission to the Ankum Dressage Tournament is free. Visitors are most welcome. Information, schedules, and starting and results lists are available at www.psi-events.de
Ankum goes Drassage - Third ADC Tournament
(Ankum) The response has been overwhelming: The Ankum Dressage Tournaments are enjoying increasing popularity and have managed to secure 48 national and international riders for 4th to 6th November in the Ankum Auction Centre at the Sport- und Seehotel. Amongst them we see the return of European Championship Team runner-up Christoph Koschel (Hagen a.T.W), Michael Klimke (Münster), trainer Kathrin Bettenworth (Spenge), Markus Gribbe (Lastrup) and Hayley Beresford, long-time pupil of Isabell Werth.
14 events are again on the programme, from the L-class Dressage Horse Test to the Grand Prix de Dressage. The third ADC tournament will kick off at 11.30am on Friday with the Youth Tests. The highlight will be the Grand Prix de Dressage on Sunday at 13.15. The selection of competitions reflects the different stages of learning and development that dressage horses experience.
In one L-class Dressage Horse Test the eleven five-year old horses will compete, while the Grand Prix de Dressage is a task for horses who have reached maturity. The Ankum Dressage Tournaments are designed so that they offer both professionals and amateurs the opportunity to take part in demanding Dressage events, and to try out and train for new horse/rider combinations. It is in exactly this way that Michael Klimke, for example, uses the ADC Tournaments. “It is an opportunity to return to riding under competition conditions after taking a break, and to present young horses as well as those well-established in the sport.”
Admission to the Ankum Dressage Tournament is free from 4th to 6th November. Visitors are most welcome. Information, schedules, and starting and results lists are available at www.psi-events.de
Grand Prix Victory for Christoph Koschel and Lawarino
(Ankum) One has to make the most of chances and opportunities, and that goes for highly successful Dressage riders as well as for young talent. The Ankum Dressage Tournament presents just such an opportunity across four Autumn weekends. Christoph Koschel, runner-up with the German team at the European Championships, secured victory with eleven year-old Hanoverian chestnut gelding Lawarino in the Grand Prix de Dressage at the Auction Centre in Ankum with 67.66, and also piloted young talent Londontown S to first place in the Prix St. Georges.
Lucky second in the Grand Prix was Michael Klimke from Münster. The lawyer practises his sport at a high level, alongside his career, and had already presented the eleven year-old Holsteiner son of Calido Harmony's Calinus (65.88) in the Young Horse Grand Prix Series. But this is about the grown-up sport. In third place in the Dressage Classic came Maria Kaldwei (Lützow Herford RFV) with 13 year-old Hanoverian Companero.
Londontown S by Londonderry is just seven years old and is obviously determined to please his rider and trainer Chrostoph Koschel. After securing third place on Saturday, today saw him claim victory in the Prix St. Georges. Insa Hansen (Osnabrück County RSC) managed to claim both second and third places with Forum Drei (65.35) and Duende (65.00).
The Prix St. Georges for Amateurs was once again the "swag" of youngster Charlotte Dassler from Bockhorn. She won with 67.01 percent, with Oldenburg D'accord, and took second place with William (66.93). Third place in this test went to Angela Sklavounos, Greek guest in the Osnabrück region with Quanderas - offspring of renowned Dressage sire Quando-Quando. The duo achieved 65.17 percent.
Admission to the Ankum Dressage Tournaments in the Auction Centre in the Sport- and Seehotel is free. Visitors will also be most welcome at the next two Ankum Dressage Tournaments, from 4th to 6th November 2011 and 18th to 20th November. Information, schedules, starting and results lists are available at www.psi-events.de
Short-Grand-Prix Victory for Michael Klimke und Harmony's Calinus, congrats from Dr. Ulf Möller.

The successful at the Short-Gran-Prix: (v.l.) Michael Klimke (Harmony's Calinus), Johan Zagers (Question de Liberte), Christoph Koschel (Lawarino) and Maria Kaldewei (Companero).

Double Success for Oldenburg´s Charlotte Dassler
(Ankum) That was quite a day for Dressage rider Charlotte Dassler, just 19 years old, from Frisian Bockhorn: First and second place in the S-class Dressage event at the ADC Tournament! Also successful at the Ankum Dressage Tournament - Eva Möller, Johan Zagers and Christoph Koschel.
Eva Möller (Osnabrück County RSC) piloted nine year-old Oldenburg daughter of Relevant Ronja M to victory in the S-class Dressage event with 67.16 percent, forcing Belgian Johan Zagers and his horse Velono V into second place (with 66.33 percent), ahead of European Championship team silver medal-winner Christoph Koschel (Hagen a.T.W.). He took the chance to present seven year-old Londontown S by Londonderry. The chestnut gelding was, alongside Michael Klimke's (Münster) Bruno Belissimo, the youngest horse in the event. Another son of Londonderry also attracted attention: Black gelding London Eye L, who brought victory to his rider Simone Kruse from the Niedervieland RC in the Young Horse Grand Prix (67.00). Harmony's Calinus with Michael Klimke (Münster) also achieved first merits in the Young Horse Grand Prix. The gelding won the Short Grand Prix at the Ankum Dressage Tournament with his rider, scoring 68.13 percent, ahead of Johan Zagers with Question de Liberte (67.64) and Christoph Koschel on Lawarino (67.64).
Charlotte Dassler triumphed with William (69.16) and D'accord (68.75), taking both first and second place in the S-class Dressage event for amateurs. Lucky third was Angela Sklavounos. The Greek rider and her 12 year-old Quanderas are preparing conscientiously in the Osnabrück region for the World Cup Finals for Young Riders in Frankfurt. In the Young Horse competitions Louboutin under Heike Hamel (Osnabrück County RSC), and Ricky with Hedda Droege (Osnabrück County RSC) had another chance to take top position.
Admission to the Ankum Dressage Tournament is free. Visitors are most welcome. Information, schedules, starting and results lists are all available at www.psi-events.de
It's all go in the Dressage arena - Ankum Dressage Club
(Ankum) Ankum Dressage Club's reasons to invite you to their tournaments in the Auction Centre in Ankum, Lower Saxony, always come in threes: piaffes, passages and pirouettes - young talent, elegant dancers, impressive legends - the ADC Tournaments are a platform for the whole spectrum of Dressage sport.
From 28th to 30th October, the second ADC weekend will be placing an emphasis on youth development, with a whole host of Dressage horse events. A total of four Dressage horse events for the L and M classes for five and six year-old horses will be on the programme from 28th to 30th October. Also on offer are three special events for amateurs -a Prix St. George, an S-class Dressage and an M**-class Dressage trial. Completing the ADC Dressage Tournament programme will be classics like the Grand Prix de Dressage, the short Grand Prix, the Intermediaire II and the Youth Grand Prix for eight to ten-year old horses.
This particular combination has gone down well and evidently filled a hole in the sporting opportunities available to Dressage riders - both for professionals and ambitious amateurs. There are a total of four official Ankum Dressage tournaments in Autumn/Winter 2011 in the Auction Centre. After the opening and second weekends of Dressage sport, a further two tournaments will follow from 4th to 6th November and 18th to 20th November.
This round of official Ankum Dressage Tournaments kicked off from 14th to 16th October in the Auction Centre of the Ankum 'Sport- und Seehotel', immediately attracting a large number of both national and international participants, amongst others European Championship team runner up Christoph Koschel. He took part with young horse Lawarion and promptly proceeded to win the short Grand Prix. Erstwhile German Professional Rider Champion Bianca Kasselmann shone with 'Weltclassiker' in the Grand Prix de Dressage and professional rider Andrea Timple celebrated a particularly outstanding weekend with three victiories.
